Scandinavian folk art, mid-century modern design, nature (macro and micro) music, games, toys, observations of human interaction, world religions, and unexplained phenomena are among various inflences for my work. Former studies in theater design led me to the format of small scale installation and the possibilities of visual dialogue between form. Abstraction holds my interest because of its' universality and ability to trigger a variety of associations and memories at once. Likewise, clay is a medium that allows me to work as a sculptor, painter and potter at once. I am inspired by its humble nature, strength, fragility and the simultaneous feeling of chaos and control that it lends.
